The Central Hollywood Neighborhood Council voted to support a Conditional Use Permit (Case ZA-2025-6032-CUB) for the Cinerama Dome Theater and ArcLight Cinemas complex at 6360 W Sunset Blvd, Hollywood.
The permit allows for the continued sale of alcoholic beverages for on-site consumption across the theater complex, including outdoor dining terraces, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. daily.
In a letter to Place Weavers Inc., CHNC wrote:
“The Cinerama Dome has long served as an iconic cultural anchor within our neighborhood, drawing visitors from across Los Angeles and beyond while providing a sense of identity and continuity for local residents. Its presence supports surrounding small businesses, contributes to a vibrant pedestrian environment, and reinforces Hollywood’s reputation as a global center for film and the arts.”
The Cinerama Dome, originally built in 1963, is one of Hollywood’s most recognizable landmarks and a designated Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument. CHNC’s support reflects the board’s commitment to preserving Hollywood’s cultural identity while supporting responsible business operations in the community.
